“The bong in your reggae song…”

Rolling Stone magazine is reporting that The Breeders will re-issue their seminal alt-rock classic Last Splash April 2013. If you’ve only heard “Cannonball” you owe it to yourself to listen to the rest of the album, I recommend “Saints” as an excellent starting point. In many ways The Breeders, and especially Last Splash delivered on the pop music promises that The Pixies strayed away from with Trompe Le Monde and Bossanova.
To mark the 20th anniversary of Last Splash The Breeders will be embarking on a tour (no southern California dates have been announced yet) and reissuing the album as a box set that includes an earlier EP, live tracks, and rarities.

Surfer Rosa

It’a been 25 years since The Pixies released the first full LP. Surfer Rosa still stands strong 25 years later. Listen to “Where is my mind” here.

But don’t stop there go listen to the whole album if you haven’t, it is one of the seminal albums of the early alternative music movemement.
